Norman Kaye, recently, had a stroke and he has been in rehabilitation since then.

 His benefits have run out and he NEEDS OUR HELP!

Not in ones lifetime would so many people be affected as those lives that have been touched in so many ways by Norman Kaye. A true Living Legend, Norman has experienced an illustrious career and a luminous life. His reach into many facets of life has taken him worldwide and his ambitions have taken him to soaring heights. Below are listed a fraction of highlights of his life achievements as an entertainer, humanitarian, philanthropist, educator and entrepreneur.

In music, as part of the Mary Kaye Trio, he was part of the first Main Showroom act to become the founding headliner act of "Lounge Entertainment." Appeared in numerous movies and Television shows which spanned over 3 decades. Inductee into the CASINO LEGENDS HALL OF FAME 1999. Composer of "Throw A Dime My Way", the National MARCH OF DIMES song selected from a field of over 39,000 entries. Chairman of the LAS VEGAS GOLDEN CIRCLE of affluent citizens that funded the Las Vegas Community Theatre. Chairman of the MULTIPLE CHARITIES OF NEVADA ART FUND. Awarded EIGHT National ASCAP Awards for musical compositions. Composer of "Have A Heart, Lend A Hand", the World theme song for Variety Club International. Honors bestowed by Sir Leslie McDonald and Sir James Carreras of Great Britain. A credited singer/songwriter for Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Vicky Carr and the list goes on. Perhaps one of the most famous of his compositions is the Hawaiian Island standard, "A Miele Lie For Your Hair."

As a career Social Servant he had been active as a member of the Advisory Board of Rose De Lima Hospital Auxiliary for 5 years, Chairman of the Board for Oran Gragson's UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN'S VALLEY HOSPITAL, member of the National Board Of Directors and Representative for the Research and Development Council for THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY, On the board of Directors for the DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL for the State Of Nevada, On the board of Directors for the Nevada Heart Association. Chairman of The Board C.H.A.P. (Combined Health Agency Program) to enhance all Nevada State Health Agencies. On the board of Directors of the Retinitis Pigmentosa. Recipient of the Distinguished Public Service Award from the ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION, Certificate of Appreciation from the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY and Special Service Award from the HOME OF THE GOOD SHEPARD.

As an active member of the business community, "Norman Kaye Real Estate" was the first brokerage firm in So. Nevada in 1957 and grew to be the largest and most successful independent operation from 1963 to 1972. Sponsor and Committee member of the URBAN LEAGUE Of Las Vegas. Elected to the membership of the Kentucky Colonels by the Governor of Kentucky, Norman has presided over the Las Vegas Chapter for several years to the present. Director of The American Bank Of Commerce, participating owner of The Shenandoah Hotel in Las Vegas, President of COSMO OIL, Chairman of The Board Of Governors of The JOCKEY CLUB on the Las Vegas Strip, President and C.E.O. of WESTERN EMPIRE PETROLEUM, The first Nevadan to be awarded two GOLDEN PITCHFORK awards by the Las Vegas Saints and Sinners, appointed Captain of the ASSOCIATED INVESTIGATORS AND POLICE INTERNATIONAL, St. Johns, Canada, recipient of a certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Defense signed by Gen. Geo. Westmoreland for service performed in Viet Nam in 1964. Member of the NATIONAL REGISTER OF PROMINENT AMERICANS, listed in WHO's WHO In The West and WHO's WHO IN AMERICA from 1974 to present. POET LAUREATE for 30 years for the State Of Nevada. Appointed by Governs Grant Sawyer, Paul Laxalt, Michael O'Callahan, Robert List, Richard Bryant. Tenured since 1967. On April 30, 2007, Gov. Jim Gibbons named Norman Kaye Poet Laureate Emeritus, a move which allows the state to appoint a new poet laureate.
